Sadness in real life.

I was planning on participating in this month's Kindred Creations collabkit, but real life got in the way. My grandfather's health has been in decline for some time, but now my father has had at least one stroke and has been diagnosed with TIA, which is an illness my family is very familiar with. My Granny, my father's mother, had it for many years.

TIA basically boils down to mini-strokes. Granny died less than a year ago because she had a severe stroke and was given a prognosis of no quality of life; her personal paperwork said that she didn't want life to be prolonged under those conditions and that we were to let her go.

Losing her was extremely painful for me and my family because she had always been so loving, and she was always there for people. I'm not Christian, but she was, and she lived it. If she told you that you should give someone the shirt off your back, she said it as she was removing her own clothes.

It is very painful to have lost her to stroke, to be watching my grandfather's (my mother's father) health declining so rapidly after his stroke, and now to see my father's health and mind be in such a precarious position.

I hope to be able to get back to my scrapbooking projects soon, but I know I need a little time off to be able to be with my family and deal with work and the real world for a while.

July's collab kit

I did decide to do Kindred Creations collab kit for July. It won't win any awards, but I managed to get it done in much less time than I usually allot for myself. I really love the colors, but I couldn't seem to come up with any sort of coherent theme, so my contribution is a bit all over the place.

Six papers, 4 embellishments. No drop shadows on the pieces, though both of the button/stickery things have highlights to help them look more three dimensional. And yes, one of the embellishments is me trying to make a wax seal. I thought it was fun, but I couldn't make a mark within the press that I was happy with, so I left it blank. I figure it is more useful that way anyway.

Please, go visit Kindred Creation's Digital Collab Kit forum to see what some of the others have done with this palette. The others are so very talented, I kind of feel bad participating! lol

Also, I'm going on vacation very soon, so I'm hoping to come back a little less stressed and start working on some of the other projects I have going.

So I've got to decide...

If I'm going to do this month's collab kit. I would really like to, and I'm leaning toward it, but my comp has been a bitch and a half lately, and I'm worried she's gonna go sinking like the Titanic if I'm not careful. Plus, the husband doesn't like it for me to put anything useful on his computer (like firefox, sh!! don't tell him where i'm blogging from!)

Also, the kit is due the day before Husband and my first major trip since the wedding. We are going to DisneyWorld, land of the the happy, with another couple for almost a full week. It is pretty exciting.

But... the colors!

It is called Majestic India, and it is lovely!

Working on a third kit

Hello, everyone who may be paying attention out there! I'm working on a third kit, which should be much like the previous two in size, but has a much different palette.

And in a twist to the colors, which are called 'Tomato', by the way, I'm going with a nautical theme. I don't know how well it will work out, but I wanted to do something a bit different, and this seemed kind of cool, so there we are.

I'm currently downloading new pictures (well, not new, but never been on my comp, before). And included in that? duh-duhduh-duuuhh! Cross stitching, tattoo, niece and nephews, and cake!

Okay, so maybe not all of that is that interesting for you, but I assure you that's the goodness my life is made up of, outside of the rest of my family and friends.

I know I'm late, but I'm kind of like that, so ... yeah.

2nd kit, fun for all!...

or at least me! Well, since my last post, I've finished my cross stitching project (pictures to come later), gotten my first tattoo (pictures may come later), and have finished my second digiscrap kit (pictures to come below). I'm pretty proud of it. The colors are, of course, from the Kindred Creations May Collab Kit, as that is what I made if for.

I'm lazy this month, so there are no drop shadows, but there are two frames, four papers, and many embellishments. If you like the look of it, get the rest here.

Very soon, the entirety of the May Collab Kit will be posted to Kindred Creation

yay! first kit ever!

Alrighty, so I will make this brief as husband is chomping at the bit to get out of the house (especially because we are running late!)

I finished my first ever digiscrap minikit. It is a part of the Kindred Creations monthly collab kit challenge, and so I'm very proud to be in their number, as there are some really talented people on board.

The drop shadows are preview only. If you like it, you can get it here.

On the first of May, the entire collab kit will be put in the Kindred Creations shop as a wonderful freebie!
